Pet passion in action: How I help shape the future of our Pet food business

From intern to impact

I’m from Brazil and started at dsm-firmenich over 17 years ago – as an intern! At the time, I was studying food engineering and had no idea how far I’d go. I chose this path because I dreamed of working with products that make a difference – bringing real nutrition to people (and now pets!) around the world. Since then, I’ve moved through many roles – customer service, sales, commercial, and strategy – across local, regional, and global teams. I’ve never felt limited by titles. What do I love most? The possibility of shaping my own journey. I’ve always felt supported by great leaders and colleagues who believed in me and encouraged me to grow.

Typical day in my team

Today, I’m part of the global team driving the commercial growth of our Pet food business. My role is all about connection – aligning regions, turning strategy into action, and building a strong customer experience across markets. I lead initiatives like pricing strategy, strategic customer plans, and help shape the new structure of our Pet organization. I also support regional teams with tools, insights, and processes to help them focus and grow. It’s a dynamic, collaborative role. We co-create, challenge each other, and celebrate progress together.

A project close to my heart

One project I’m especially proud to be part of involves our business transformation – It’s been a major step for our Pet food division. I’ve been involved from the beginning, back when it was just three of us building the foundation.

Now, it’s grown into a company-wide effort with real strategic impact. We’re building a clear pet identity – driving focus, and creating value across regions. It’s been amazing to see it evolve and be part of something so meaningful.

Why I love what I do

For me, it’s all about purpose and people. I believe in what we do: making a real difference for pets, their families, and the planet. But just as important are the people around me. This is a company where I’ve always felt safe to be myself, to ask questions, and to grow. I’ve had the privilege of working with colleagues who support, challenge, and inspire me. And I try to do the same for others.

Looking ahead

The pet food industry is changing fast, and that creates exciting opportunities. Pet parents are more conscious and demanding, which opens the door for innovation, science, and sustainability.

Internally, we’re also evolving. We have a strong foundation and we’re building something new with more structure, visibility, and collaboration. It’s a great moment to step up, shape change, and leave your mark.

Sustainability matters

Sustainability isn’t a side note, it’s core to how we operate. From smart formulations and responsible sourcing to helping customers meet their ESG goals, we’re focused on impact. In my role, I make sure sustainability is part of every value conversation. It’s not just about price, it’s about the long-term impact on our customers and the planet.

Advice for future teammates
